What We Can All Learn From Prison
Not just any prison, that is. The Michigan/California prison situation. For those of you who haven’t yet heard, Michigan Governor Jennifer Granholm has offered to host a few California prisoners. The reason? It’s simple: California has too many prisoners, and Michigan wants more [for job security, not just to collect them].
I get that this is controversial, and I get that there are downfalls. I also get that you think this has nothing to do with your business, but in fact, it has everything to do with your business.
You have something to give. You also have something you need. Michigan has space and a lot of workers in need of a paycheck. California needs space and its facilities are overgrown. Seems like a simple enough solution to me.
What are your needs? What can you give up in return? Think about this over the weekend. You’ll be glad you did.

I just wanted to let you know that I love this post. I don’t know the situation between California and Michigan, but I do know that it’s that principle, what I have, what others need. We give what we can.
I used to think that because we don’t have gobs of money; that because we couldn’t make a large contribution to an organization, then what we could give wouldn’t make a difference. But I’ve started this two dollar project (www.twodollarproject.blogspot.com) and it has completely changed the way I look at giving. A little to me is a lot to someone else. Everything from cleaning someone’s house to helping someone breathe….two dollars can do a lot.
This may be more info than you wanted to know, but I just love this post!

What an insightful post. Bartering services have been on the rise. How do you go about protecting your business when doing so?
Love the idea of bartering! Just had a potential client ask about it today.
I’ve decided to offer a barter plan to two clients each month.
